Dr. Jožef Smej, 1922 – 2020. A magnificent man whom I personally caught on camera and followed for the last decade of his life. Always generous, a polymath, a linguist, a poet, a writer, a chronographer and a Catholic bishop. A gentleman with many great accolades, who did not give this any special importance. Shortly after his death, calls for his beatification were launched because of his nature of solidarity. His surname, Smej, means "laugh" in Slovenian: which is why the film is simply called Mr Smej.
